Mayoral letter to Congress Update; Survey on Impact of SNAP cuts

Urge your Mayor to join in letter to Congress to Protect SNAP

As of this AM, the following Mayors have signed onto Mayor Petty’s letter requesting Congress protect SNAP. Brockton, Gloucester, Gardner, Lynn, Fitchburg, Fall River, Greenfield, Northampton, Taunton, Lowell, Salem, Peabody, Framingham and Worcester. We can update you as we hear more.

Deadline is tomorrow, Thursday at 5 PM. Please reach out to local municipal leaders to join in. You can provide them with specific SNAP caseload and EBT purchase data on how many households would be affected in their community. Here’s the letter (mayoral names and logos not added yet) and here’s the google sign on form.

Survey on Impact of Potential SNAP Cuts:

Here are the Massachusetts impact stories we recently shared with the MA Congressional Delegation. They have asked for more stories on how SNAP cuts could affect their constituents. We need your voice to help us fight back against possible cuts. Please encourage SNAP households to complete this survey.

And please let us know if you have questions or want to suggest additional strategies to protect and defend SNAP. And don’t forget - reach out to family and friends in sister states!
