OLGT 2023-69: Cross Programs: The Newton Thrive Economic Stability / Mobility Initiative

Scheduled for late 2023, The City of Newton is partnering with Economic Mobility Pathways (EMPath), a Boston-based nonprofit on Newton Thrive. Newton Thrive is an economic mobility initiative that provides low-income Newton families with one-on-one mentoring and $251 of monthly cash assistance.

Participants in Newton Thrive will receive 24 months of economic mobility coaching and monthly cash assistance, which families may spend as they wish. Each participant will be paired one-on-one with a mentor who has been trained in economic mobility coaching. The income received from Newton Thrive is non-countable for all DTA programs.
