OLGT 2023-60: SNAP: P-EBT for Children 0-5 Years for School Year 2022-2023
The Families First Coronavirus Response Act established the option for states to administer Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) benefits. Massachusetts has received federal approval to provide P-EBT to children aged 0-5 years old for School Year (SY) 2022-2023.
Children aged 0-5 years old are eligible for SY 2022-2023 P-EBT benefits if they are:
-
under the age of 6; and
-
in an active SNAP case for the corresponding month(s) during SY 2022-2023. This includes households that received expedited benefits only.
On August 25, 2023, eligible Massachusetts children aged 0-5 years received a retroactive P-EBT payment of $30 per month for any eligible month(s) from September 2022 through April 2023. Since the Public Health Emergency ended on May 11, households who applied between 5/1/2023 to 5/11/2023 will be eligible for $15 for May 2023.
This is the final issuance of Childcare P-EBT as the Public Health Emergency (PHE) ended on May 11, 2023.
