Field Ops Memo 2006-03: The Medicare Part D Program

In late 2004, many Food Stamp recipients who also receive Medicare benefits began participating in the Medicare Prescription Drug Discount Program (MPDDP). In January 2006, MPDDP will be phased out and Medicare Part D will replace it. Medicare Part D will be available to all persons who receive RSDI and SSI benefits (the dual eligibles), and persons who receive RSDI-only, if otherwise income and asset eligible.
