Child Maltreatment Report

Author:
U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services (Children's Bureau/ACF)

Each year, the Children's Bureau produces the Child Maltreatment report using state statistics on child abuse and neglect that were gathered through the National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS).

National and state statistics about child maltreatment are derived from the data collected by child protective services agencies and reported to NCANDS. The data are analyzed, disseminated, and released in this annual report.

The most recent Child Maltreatment report is from FFY 2015. Additional years' reports can be found on the Children Bureau's website (available here).
