DTA Updates: February 2025

Here are DTA’s February 2025 updates to the Advisory Boards, including information about DTA’s upcoming switch to a new EBT vendor, the SSA COLA, Jackson Square Office opening, how to lock/unlock an EBT card, and DTA Assistance line data.

DTA shared that each business day, on average, the Assistance Line receives nearly 10,000 calls from people hoping to speak to a SNAP case manager. More than half of those calls are automatically disconnected due to high call volume and about 2,000 are able to speak with a worker. Please continue to share access issues with Pat or Vicky. Here are MLRI’s advocacy tips to get help.

Finally, the updates include information about DTA cash benefits and the FY26 budget. The Governor’s FY 26 budget proposes to eliminate the 10% increase to cash assistance grants scheduled for April, cutting cash to October 2022 levels (the same grant in effect now). Please join the Lift Our Kids Coalition in urging the Governor not to cut TAFDC and EAEDC cash benefits! See press statement from Lift Our Kids here.
