The mission of the Massachusetts Legal Aid Websites Project is to improve access to justice for low-income and vulnerable persons in Massachusetts through innovative use of the web and other technologies.
We coordinate three websites: MassLegalHelp.org, MassLegalServices.org and the Massachusetts Legal Resource Finder. Through our websites, we provide information to Massachusetts residents about their legal rights. We also provide civil legal aid advocates with essential resources for effective client representation.
MassLegalServices is geared towards legal aid advocates and others who represent low income clients in non-criminal legal proceedings. It includes a poverty law resource library available to the general public.
MassLegalHelp provides understandable, practical legal information about issues which affect low income people, including unemployment, housing, income and benefits, school, domestic violence, children and families, seniors, CORI, disability, health and mental health, and school. Information is available in many languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Vietnamese.
