Support for Doula Budget Amendment; May 18 ACP Training
Hello all,
In response to MassHealth's plan to begin covering doula services, Senator Joan Lovely has filed an amendment to the SWM FY23 Budget to fund the development of the doula workforce that is needed to serve MassHealth members. We need your help to get this passed! Please ask your state senator to co-sponsor Amendment # 485.

I am writing to urge you to co-sponsor Senator Lovely’s Amendment # 485 to S.4. Amendment # 485 would provide funding for the development, recruitment and training of the doula workforce across the Commonwealth, so that MassHealth can successfully implement its plan to provide doula coverage for its members.
Access to doula services improves pregnancy and birthing outcomes, particularly for low-income and underserved communities, and those targeted by systemic racism. For this reason, MassHealth plans to begin covering doula services; but first the doula workforce must be prepared to successfully serve the specialized needs of these communities. Amendment #485 would fund the necessary training, recruitment and development of the doula workforce to serve MassHealth members and improve pregnancy and birthing outcomes throughout the Commonwealth.
The White House recently announced that they negotiated voluntary commitments from 20 internet providers to offer high speed internet services at no cost to ACP beneficiaries. Please find the press release here. This means consumers would not have any out of pocket costs for internet services. Come learn what this will mean for MA residents.
