2021-2: Cross Program: School Year 2020-21 Pandemic EBT Benefits
Date:
The Continuing Appropriations Act of 2021 has extended Pandemic EBT (P- EBT), a provision initially included in The Families First Coronavirus Response Act.
In response to the COVID-19 public health crisis, schools in Massachusetts have been able to select their reopening models as either fully remote, fully in- person, or hybrid (mix of remote and in-person learning). The learning model selected by the school district and/or student’s family impacts their P-EBT eligibility.
P-EBT benefits can be used anywhere that SNAP benefits are accepted. P- EBT was issued to active DTA households as well as households that do not currently receive DTA benefits but include children who receive free or reduced-price school meals.
