Urban Institute Documents How Proposed SNAP Cuts Could Impact Every State

One of the cost cutting proposals being proposed by House Republicans is to roll back the 2021 SNAP increase implemented under the 2021 Thrifty Food Plan (TFP) update. According to the Urban analysisif the TFP cut is implemented, SNAP benefits will fail to cover the cost of a modestly priced meal in every county in the US. For Massachusetts, the gap between a moderately priced meal in Massachusetts and the maximum SNAP benefit would be $1.79 per meal, or 79%. Please use this data in your advocacy to fight against SNAP cuts.
