Understanding the Affordable Care Act: Six Ways It Will Affect Access To Coverage for Low Income People in 2014

Description of 6 ways that national health reform implementation in Massachusetts will affect access to coverage for low income people in 2014, many of whose key provisions do not take effect until January 2014. This summary explains legislation, recommendations from the Affordable Care Act Task Force, and proposed amendments. Two other papers in this series include a more in-depth summary of transitions in coverage planned for 2014 and a new income methodology that will be used in 2014.
