TODAY oppose cuts to SNAP/TANF, FRAC social media day, Coalition mtg tomorrow 5/23

FoodSNAP

Urgent need to act to oppose cuts to SNAP and TANF in debt ceiling advocacy!

See this email from FRAC on taking action today on social media.  #SNAPMatters #CareNotCuts

Please continue elevating your concerns and opposition to any cuts to SNAP and TANF to our delegation and within your communities, including in media coverage. Debt ceiling issues are moving very quickly and so sharing your concerns today/ASAP is important! Let us know if more information is helpful in your efforts.

On Friday, MA anti-hunger and anti-poverty organizations sent a joint statement to the Massachusetts delegation stating that SNAP and TANF are both crucial to protecting people’s health and wellbeing. Please elevate! President Biden and Congressional leaders must reject any proposals that take away health care, food or income support from the people who count on it to meet their basic needs.

And, thank you to MA Congresswoman & Democratic Whip Katherine Clark for her comments on Saturday at the Boston Commons opposing cuts to safety net programs.

SNAP Coalition meeting tomorrow, 5/23 from 10-11:30
