Representing Domestic Violence Survivors in 209A Abuse Prevention Proceedings (Recorded Training)
This three hour training covers the basics of advocating for clients in 209A Abuse Prevention Proceedings, including an overview of 209A law and procedure, and a step-by-step review of how to prepare for and conduct a 209A hearing. In addition, the training covers a presentation on the dynamics of an abusive relationship.
Foley Hoag co-sponsored this event with the Domestic and Sexual Violence Council, a coalition of lawyers and legal advocates that helps victims of domestic and sexual violence by coordinating legal services, providing trainings to providers of services, and advocating to improve legislative and judicial policies concerning domestic violence and sexual assault in Massachusetts.
