OLGT 2024-32: Cross Programs: The Extension of Ukrainian Humanitarian Parolee (UHP) Status
The Additional Ukraine Supplemental Appropriations Act (AUSAA) of 2022 authorized the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) to provide resettlement assistance and other benefits to specific Ukrainian populations and other non- Ukrainian individuals in response to their displacement from Ukraine and entry into the United States until September 30, 2023.
On April 24, 2024 President Biden signed the Making emergency supplemental appropriations for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2024, and for other purposes Act into law. This law extends the period of parole under which certain individuals from Ukraine may become eligible for SNAP and TAFDC benefits from September 30, 2023 to September 30, 2024.
These individuals are not subject to a waiting period and are immediately eligible for SNAP and TAFDC benefits as long as they meet all other DTA program financial and non-financial eligibility requirements.
