OLGT 2024-30: Cross Programs: The City of Somerville Guaranteed Basic Income Program

Effective May 1, 2024, The City of Somerville Guaranteed Basic Income Program, via a partnership with two research centers at UMass Boston: the Center for Social Policy and the Edward J. Collins Jr. Center for Public Management, will provide $750 a month for a period of 12 months to community members experiencing transitional crisis and housing instability.

Payments are slated to start in July 2024. The income received from The City of Somerville Guaranteed Basic Income Program is non-countable for all DTA programs.
