OLGT 2021-4: SNAP: Temporary 15% Increase
Pursuant to the provisions of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021, the Department has temporarily increased the minimum and maximum SNAP allotments by 15 percent. These increases are effective from January 1, 2021 through June 30, 2021.
The Department will issue the 15 percent increase each month to eligible SNAP households who are active; pending and received expedited; or received SNAP benefits as part of a 30-day special issuance. This payment will be issued as a related benefit on the same day as the issuance of the Emergency Allotment, and will cover the client for the previous month for which they already received their regular SNAP benefit issuance.
Emergency Allotments for January through June 2021 will reflect the adjusted maximum SNAP allotments, and will be issued separately from the related benefit for the 15 percent increase. The 15 percent increase will not impact existing procedures for Emergency Allotments, which are outlined in Online Guide Transmittal 2020-30D.
