OLGT 2018-22: Cross Programs: Suspension of the Healthy Incentives Program (HIP)

Due to its overwhelming success and associated, unanticipated funding demands, HIP will be suspended in April 2018 until further notice.  

 

The last day SNAP households may earn HIP benefits is April 15th, 2018. 

 

HIP retailers and partners have already been informed of the suspension.  Clients will receive a Robocall informing them of the suspension before it takes effect. Each TAO will receive HIP suspension flyers in 15 languages. Staff must provide clients with a copy of the flyer in the appropriate language.

 

Some farmers’ markets operate SNAP matching programs separate from HIP. Clients must be directed to farmers’ markets near them to learn more about these locally operated programs.
