A May 23, 2017 study by the Urban Institute  commissioned by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation in its role as a co-convener of the Massachusetts Coalition for Coverage and Care  projects devastating consequences for the Commonwealth if the House-passed version of the American Health Care Act (AHCA) becomes law: when fully phased in (2022), the AHCA would drain $1.4 billion in federal funding from Mass., and nearly half a million residents could lose coverage if the federal funds were not replaced.
