Reminder: SNAP Coalition meeting tomorrow, Tues 9/24 from 10-11:30 

 

Here’s the Zoom link for tomorrow’s Coalition meeting. We will cover:

 

  • Poverty Commission & testimony 

  • Brief overview of MA SNAP caseload & phone access, see charts here. 

  • DTA updates/discussion:

    • Replacement of stolen SNAP - very positive federal updates on this front! Tune in tomorrow to learn more!

    • Access to DTA / Assistance Line barriers, including issues getting the application interview 

    • MBTA reduced fares for SNAP, TAFDC, EAEDC households 

    • October 1 SNAP Cost of Living Adjustment - tiny increase to maximum benefit amounts and other adjustments to the SNAP math. See updated 1 page SNAP math worksheet from MLRI here. 

    • Other issues/concerns from partners 

  • Federal updates from one of our national partners, the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, on replacement of stolen SNAP and the Farm Bill. 

  • 9/30 deadline to apply for TAFDC to get the clothing allowance.

  • Issue sharing and announcements.
