Clothing Allowance Restored for September 2011

We just learned from DTA that the full $150/child clothing allowance will be paid in September 2011.

Thanks to your advocacy, the Legislature and the Governor prioritized restoration of the clothing allowance if revenues improved. There has in fact been an increase in revenues over projections and the Governor included restoration in a supplemental budget filed last week. Even though that budget has not yet passed the Legislature and been signed into law, DTA got approval to pay the full amount in September, allowing families to buy school clothing and avoiding the confusion that would have resulted if families had gotten two separate reduced payments.
